Today's announcement from Sennheiser of a new line of Kleer-based home audio headphones for music, TV, and home theater marks the first in a series of home audio product announcements for 2009 from several well-known brands.

Kleer has introduced new features to support multiple simultaneous audio streams in a home environment where there may be multiple distributed audio sources and multiple headphones and speakers. With virtually zero differential latency in its point-to-multipoint configuration, Kleer enables zoned audio systems with no echo when speakers in different rooms are playing the same music stream. Furthermore, Kleer is reducing absolute audio latency to 25msec, supporting new home theater and stereo/surround speaker products that will be introduced in 2009.
Because Kleer guarantees full interoperability between Kleer-based home audio and Kleer-based portable audio products regardless of brand or manufacturer, consumers will be able to mix and match Kleer-based wireless products in the home or on the go. For example, they can use Kleer-based portable audio earbuds purchased for their portable audio player (such as an iPod) to listen to TV, or transmit music from their portable audio player to their home stereo system, wireless speakers or high quality wireless home audio headphones such as the Sennheiser RS series.
